Week 13: self portrait. I overworked it. I should have stopped two layers before. I just couldn’t get the values right. Calling it done for now; I’ll attempt a self portrait again some time in the future.

Week 14: pulling an image from an abstract. I ended up with a bird fish. How can I make this better? What even is a bird fish?? It looks like something I would draw as a child. Any feedback welcome!

Week 14: abstract landscape!

I’m starting to love abstracts. I used to think I’m bad at them. But it’s slowly growing on me. Critique and feedback welcome!

Week 13: Self portrait from mirror!

Finished in less than hour. I think I got it pretty close to how I look! Very satisfied with this. Any feedback welcome. I’d liked to have refined it more but the charcoal wouldn’t come off the paper. So I just rolled with it.

Week 8: figure painting live Alla prima

Had only about an hour to complete this, my model and I were getting impatient. Would like some feedback. I think I made the leg on the left a little too long. This was very hard with foreshortening!

Week 8: Alla prima live portrait of my boyfriend.

To be fair, he was wearing glasses and asked me to paint him without it and he also moved his head much up when I clicked the photo after the session. I learnt that I need to move fast. I’m a very slow painter. Took me a little over 1.5 hours. I think I painted him based on my memory of him hehe:

Any feedback appreciated!

Not sure I like how the paint got all muddled up. But I’m going to call this one done. Any feedback appreciated!
